Job description : Chemist/Chemical Engineer
Overview:
The Chemist/Chemical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various operational activities, including preparing monthly reports, monitoring sampling and in-house testing, planning weekly operator/aftersales schedules, and ensuring quality control on sites. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Reporting
- Compile data on operational performance, issues, and achievements from each site (Operations Report, Cooling Tower/ Chiller Trending Report, Desalination Report, Chlorine Dioxide Monitoring Report, and Tank Cleaning Report & Certificates).
- Generate a comprehensive monthly report highlighting key metrics and trends.
- Share the report with relevant stakeholders, including the management team.
- Implementation of SOPs
- Sampling Monitoring & In-House Testing
- Monitor sampling activities and liaise with external laboratories to request tests and sampling containers as needed.
- Conduct and oversee in-house testing on a daily, weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis as required and generate reports accordingly.
- Conduct Testing Equipment Verification & Calibration as and when required.
- Weekly Planning
- Conduct weekly planning (Operations & Aftersales) to assign off days.
- Arrange replacements for operators during their off days.
- Communicate weekly planning details to all operators via messages.
- Medical Check-up and Vaccination
- Coordinate annual medical check-ups for all Operators/Aftersales with HR.
- Oversee the vaccination process for STP operators/Aftersales.
- Maintain accurate records of medical histories and vaccinations.
- Monitoring & Follow-up:
- Monitor site related issues and collaborate with Technical Team for corrective actions.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure issue resolution.
- Maintain records of all interventions conducted.
- Site Visits & Quality Checks
- Conduct visits at least once per month.
- Perform quality check to ensure operational standards are met.
- Document findings and provide feedback to the team.
- Equipment Records:
- Maintain a comprehensive record of all equipment on site.
- Implement a tracking system for equipment maintenance.
- Safety Signage, MSDS & TDS
- Ensure the preparation and placement of safety signage across sites as and when required.
- Logbook:
- Design and implement template for logbooks based on client requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and printing of logbooks for each site.
Qualification & Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry & Chemical Engineering.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
