Job description : Facility Technician
Job Responsibilities:
As a Facility Technician at Lavastone Properties, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of our facilities. You will be entrusted with overseeing the maintenance, cleaning, landscaping, security, and overall functionality of our buildings, sites, and properties to create a safe and productive work environment. The role of a facilities technician multifaceted, requiring a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. This is a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of all facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to identify potential problems like leaks, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards.
- Promptly address repair needs and troubleshoot issues to minimize disruptions and maintain operational efficiency.
- Always ensure that accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and safety checks, safety and health are respected in the performance of the job as well as the facility systems and equipment are kept safe. Any issues are to be reported to the Facility Officer of the site.
- Your collaboration and team spirit are required especially in times of emergency situations including power outages, water leaks, pre and post cyclone intervention and equipment failures.
2. Tenant Relations:
- Foster positive relationships with tenants by addressing maintenance requests responding to inquiries and providing timely support.
- Liaise with tenants regarding scheduled maintenance activities and updates to enhance tenant satisfaction and retention.
3. Inventory and Supplies Management:
- Assist in performing inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for facility maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records to optimize resource allocation and budget management.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain documentation and perform reports as per instructions.
Qualifications & Required competencies for the role:
- SC or equivalent
- Additional technical certification or vocational training in facility management, building maintenance, HVAC systems, or related fields is often preferred.
- 2 years related field experience.
- Keen eye for identifying maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
- Flexibility in accommodate emergencies, after-hours maintenance, and roster.
- Commitment to providing excellent service to tenants and occupants.
