Job description : General Manager

The General Manager, reporting directly to the CEO of the Manufacturing Cluster, plays a critical role in the efficient and effective operation of the company within the cluster. This position involves overseeing all aspects of Aqualia’s operations, driving productivity, ensuring adherence to health & safety regulations, managing resources & assets, strong focus on sales and product development, contributing to strategic decision-making in line with the organisation's goals.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior management role within the manufacturing industry, demonstrating strong leadership and operational expertise.
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence:

- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations in close collaboration with the Operations Director, ensuring adherence to established processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.

- Optimise production efficiency, minimise downtime, and maximise output to meet production targets and customer demands.

- Champion product innovation and development by overseeing teams to create market-driven , high-quality product efficiently and within budget.

 

  • Team Leadership and Development:

 - Lead, motivate, and develop a team of departmental managers and staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.

 - Provide coaching and guidance to team members to enhance performance and skills within the manufacturing environment.

 

  • Resource Management:

- Manage and allocate resources effectively, including labour, materials, and equipment, to achieve operational goals and objectives.

- Optimise resource utilisation to balance cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.

 

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:

- Collaborate with the Cluster CEO and Management Team to develop and implement strategies that align with the overall vision and goals of the cluster and the company.

- Contribute to the strategic planning process, providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and growth.

 

  • Financial Management:

- Monitor and manage the company's budget, financial performance, and cost control measures to ensure financial goals are met.

- Implement strategies to reduce operational waste while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.

 

  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.

- Develop and enforce quality control processes to guarantee that products meet specified standards and customer expectations

 

  • Customer Relationship Management:

- Foster strong relationships with key customers, addressing their needs and concerns while identifying opportunities for improved service and products.

- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align production with customer demands and market trends.
