Job description : Maintenance and Project Technician
JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance and Project Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on equipment, facilities, and systems, while supporting the implementation and follow-up of technical projects. The role contributes to operational reliability, continuous improvement, safety compliance, and efficient project execution in line with company procedures and quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance and Project Duties:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders
- Ensure equipment and tools are in safe operating condition.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- Assist and execute technical and operational projects.
- Monitor project activities to ensure tasks are completed within established timelines.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Support equipment commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for equipment and process improvements.
Health, Safety, Environment & Compliance:
- Comply with all company safety rules, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with workplace, environmental, and operational standards.
- Report hazards, incidents, equipment abnormalities, and non-conformities promptly.
- Follow company procedures and contribute to the effectiveness of the Quality Management System through proper documentation, adherence to processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical diploma in mechanical, electrical, industrial, electro mechanical or related field.
- 2 years of experience in maintenance and/or technical project support.
- Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
- Split between workshop/floor and office environment
- May involve occasional travel to project sites
- Physical activity, including lifting and use of tools
- On-call availability or shift work may be required
